Friends of Our Space Our Future

Through the lifetime of the Our Space Our Future project, our partners have worked closely with a number of external stakeholders, who have provided the project with advice, expertise, resources, and time.

We would like to thank them all here!

Two of their attorney’s (who deal with Space related patents), have become role models for our 3rd intervention, where they met Welsh pupils on zoom and answered their questions about their careers and law in space. They are also in the process of creating a short video about their work which will form part of our 4th intervention show.

Living Wales
Living Wales

The living Wales organisation has been very helpful in finding role modes for our 3rd and 4th school interventions.  They have a very space-related exhibition at CAT and work to promote a greater awareness of the potential of using space-related technology for the benefit of our planet in Wales and around the world.

Psiquadro will develop a database of Italian schools that will be involved in space activities and STEM education. It will design and implement training actions as part of ESA programmes, such as Moon Camp and AstroPi, and it will promote collaborations and synergies with other Space Science oriented programmes such as Our Space Our Future.

The Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Island
The Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Island
The Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Island is a partner of NUCLIO in the promotion of teacher training events. In the last two events (2020 – 2021) over 500 educators had the opportunity to participate in the online events. The IAC supported the integration of Our Space Our Future Modules where the participants had the opportunity to meet the scientists behind the missions and better understand what kind of expertise is necessary for the exploration and understanding of various types of objects that are currently being studied by IAC teams. Virtual visits to the Teide Observatory and the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory were specially included in the program in order to enrich the participants experience.
CESAR
CESAR
CESAR is an education initiative of the European Space Agency. NUCLIO organizes every year a joint training event. This year the chosen theme is Space Careers, in support of the aims of Our Space our Future. In 2020, a special session was devoted to the project with teachers being introduced to all the resources produced by the project and having a discussion session on the importance of space career and how to promote STEAM education using space as an inspiration.

What are the current roadblocks that turn off students from studying physics (particularly in the space sector). Are there groups of students that we need to focus our attention on when we try to talk about space science in the classroom? How can we address these issues?
